Maharani Cholistan Ralli Patchwork Block Printed Throw - Black/Gold Sun
This stunning quilted throw is handmade by the ethnic women of Cholistan desert. Traditionally called Ralli this throw is approximately 78" X 60" in size. It can be used as a couch throw, draped at the foot of the bed, hung as a curtain or as a twin coverlet.
It takes an artisan 10 days to make one Ralli. The top is made with geometrically cut and hand patched pieces of 100% cotton. The lining is solid contrasting 100% cotton. The filling is upcycled surplus from textile industry and is often printed bedsheets. These prints often peek through the lining and add to the character of the throw.
These are very sturdy textiles made to last a long time. With use and cleaning, the colors may fade but it adds to charm of this heirloom piece.
Once a Cholistani artisan prepares the Ralli, it is hand block printed and embellished with removable pom pom tassels. Tassles are attached to each Ralli with buttons and loop and can be taken off before cleaning.
We recommend dry cleaning your Ralli to ensure long lasting use.
